Cory Branan to Perform in Wilson, Arkansas’ Music Series
Branan Will be Joined by Series Alum Greg Spradlin
WILSON, Ark.—On Saturday, December 3, Nashville-based Americana singer-songwriter Cory Branan will perform at the Grange in Wilson Gardens at 7:30 p.m. (15 S Jefferson Street, Wilson, AR, 72395). Tickets can be purchased at Eventbrite for $8 or $10 at the door.
Branan, born in Southaven, Mississippi and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, grew up in a musical family—his father played drums and grandfather played the fiddle. Named to Rolling Stone Country’s 10 Artists You Need to Know, Branan uses his natural storytelling ability to captivate audiences across the southeast.
“I’m not a diary writer, but I write from my life,” Branan said when asked about his songwriting inspiration. “If I can’t make it useful for someone else, I don’t see any worth in it … music has helped me through some darker times, so I try and leave some breadcrumbs for someone else. “
Branan will be joined by Wilson Music Series alum, Greg Spradlin. Spradlin is excited to return to Wilson as a lifelong lover of the Arkansas delta region.
“As soon as I was old enough, I would get in my car and just drive down from the hills and just show up on both the Arkansas and Mississippi sides of the Delta,” Spradlin said. “I can’t tell you exactly what I was looking for, but I was sure I would find it there. It’s exciting just to have an opportunity to play my songs that close to the Mississippi River and in Wilson, which has the best venue and attracts the best audiences for live music in such an ideal setting.”
